One word – Calzedonia !
These are amazing! Gotta love Italian design. https://www.calzedonia.com Happily, here in Madrid there seems to be a store on almost every corner.
When it comes to tights, it’s all about the opaque and a good fit. These have just the right amount of Lycra, which means no baggy knees or sagging. These are available in various degrees of opaqueness; either 50 or 100. My preference is the 100, as I like a very dense, dark look. You can also choose your fibre content such as Cashmere blend, which I absolutely love for Winter.
They come in 3 sizes, all though their size charts list 5, so perhaps 5 applies to other varieties which I have not tried.
With a little laundry care, these tights last me a ridiculously long time.
However!! If they have runs / snags – Throw them OUT! (unless of course, you have a separate drawer, laundry hamper & drying area for ‘tights to be worn only under pants’) otherwise THROW THEM OUT
Recently, a friend of mine was proudly showing me her otd; she was rocking little black booties & a dress. She proudly pivots on her heels…only to showcase a run, several snags, and a hole in the back of her tights.
Ladies, please check your backsides – don’t let damaged tights ruin your entire outfit. Unless of course, you are going for the Goth look.
Whenever we move out of Europe –I shall be sure and have a suitcase full of these.
