Rain Boots

March 10, 2018

While I know no one needs two pair of Hunter boots….

After our first winter here in Madrid, I finally realized that Winter is more like a Manitoba Spring.  It  does not snow, it does not get cold, it just rains for a few weeks.

During that first winter, I purchased a pair of black patent leather booties to wear on rainy days.  (Those who know me, are well aware of my phobia of ruining my shoes).  And while these booties are perfect for dashing around town, they fall short on busy Errand Days.

I dug out my brown Hunter rain boots that I brought with me from Canada, and tried them.  But they just did not do my wardrobe justice.

So, when I found these ones on sale, I could not resist.

Not only are they in a super fun color, but the shorter shaft is a better fit for me (my other pair constantly rubbed under my knees).   To make these even more comfortable, I inserted a thin sheepskin insole.   I am also thinking of getting a pair of thick Hunter socks to try with them.

These definitely make Errand Day happier and simpler.    I no longer have to navigate around puddles, I just go right through them!

As for my ill-fitting brown ones – I have taken them back to Canada, and shall use them in the sloppy dirty springtime, which seems to last forever in WinterPeg.

  1. I think your blog is a great idea. You inspire me to change my perspective on clothing. I have never had any style. I think of clothes more as a uniform . I work in a business casual environment. I would love to feel confident in the clothes I choose for myself. How does one begin to find a style that best suits her?

      Besos,

  2. I have my red Hunters in the UK (of course I need them all year round in the UK!) and I’ve missed them the past few weeks. Maybe it’s time to treat myself to a Madrid pair!
